Dana 30 JK Axle Parts for Wrangler JK

Dana 30 JK axles have a 7.120" ring gear that bolts to the carrier with (10) 7/16" – 20 bolts. The pinion has a 1.625" diameter shaft with 24 splines. This axle can be visually identified by its 10 cover bolts. The carriers available support 3.54 and numerically lower ratios and 3.73 and numerically higher ratios. The gears used in this axle are reverse cut, however they are not interchangeable with the reverse cut gears found in the front of earlier model Wrangler YJs.

The Dana 30 JK variation, standard front axle on 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK non-Rubicon models (with Rubicon using Dana 44), features a reverse-cut (high-pinion style) gearset for improved strength in front axle applications and better driveshaft angles compared to low-pinion versions, along with a 7.120" ring gear, 24-spline pinion, and carrier break at 3.54/3.73 (3.73+ higher ratios use one carrier, 3.54/lower another). Common factory ratios include 3.21 (base), 3.73 (mid), and 4.10 (optional/towing), with aftermarket upgrades pushing to 4.56, 4.88, or 5.13+ for larger tires (33-35"+) and enhanced crawl/torque—popular for regearing to restore power after lift/tire changes, upgrading shafts (chromoly for abuse), adding bearings/seals rebuilds, or traction devices (lockers like OX, Eaton Truetrac) to handle off-road demands without swapping to a Dana 44. Browse a wide variety of high-quality Dana 30 JK components, including precision bearings, heavy-duty shafts, ring and pinion gear sets in available ratios, traction devices like lockers, and installation kits from trusted brands, to help you rebuild, regear, or strengthen your JK Dana 30 for maximum reliability and trail performance.
